How to Write an AI Research Paper
Publishing is a core part of our research culture. Below is a general guideline for writing a high-quality AI paper.
Step 1 – Identify a clear problem
- Define a real medical need
- Explain why existing methods are insufficient
- State your contributions clearly
Step 2 – Review related work
- Summarize prior methods
- Compare strengths and weaknesses
- Position your work in the literature
Step 3 – Methodology
- Describe datasets
- Explain model architecture
- Provide training details
- Ensure reproducibility
Step 4 – Experiments
- Use proper baselines
- Report quantitative metrics
- Perform ablation studies
- Include clinical or practical insights
Step 5 – Discussion
- Interpret results
- Explain limitations
- Suggest future work
- Consider ethical implications
Step 6 – Writing tips
- Be concise and clear
- Use figures and diagrams
- Avoid unnecessary complexity
- Follow conference/journal templates
- Share code for reproducibility
Common venues include top AI and medical imaging conferences and journals.
